01 · Northern Botswana

Moremi Game Reserve

Moremi sits in the northern part of Botswana, covering 3,900 km² and forming the eastern edge of the Okavango Delta. Pans, floodplains, lagoons, grassland, acacia forest, savannah and dense mopane combine into an ecosystem that stuns travellers in both the flood and dry seasons.

During the dry season, vast herds of buffalo, wildebeest, elephant and zebra move in from the arid Kalahari in search of food and water. More than 400 bird species call the reserve home, including African fish eagles, crested cranes and sacred ibis.

02 · The Jewel of the Kalahari

Okavango Delta

The Okavango is the largest inland delta on Earth, a glistening oasis in the Kalahari where the river floods extensive plains into a maze of channels, lagoons, islands and swamps.

Home to large populations of elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, cheetah and the rare African wild dog, plus specialised antelope such as red lechwe and sitatunga. It's an Important Bird Area, alive with vultures, cranes, kingfishers and fish eagles. We offer both water-based (mokoro) and land-based safari adventures.

03 · Northern Border

Chobe National Park

Chobe covers approximately 11,700 km² and is renowned for its enormous elephant population and varied ecosystems: floodplains, woodlands and swamps, all focused around the Chobe River.

The Chobe Riverfront is the most popular section: a boat cruise delivers close-up views of hippos and crocodiles, with herds of elephant and buffalo flocking to drink. Birdlife is exceptional, with fish eagles, kingfishers, hammerkops, storks, geese and herons.

04 · The Great Salt Pans

Makgadikgadi National Park

Set in the north-east of Botswana, this is the world's largest salt flats, about 3,900 km² of multiple salt pans and host to one of Africa's great zebra migrations.

The seasonal transformation triggers significant zebra and wildebeest movements, drawing lions, cheetahs and brown hyenas, plus desert-adapted fauna and large flocks of flamingos. Expect unreal vistas, exceptional stargazing, ancient baobabs and meerkat interactions against the scenery of the Boteti River.

05 · Fossil Pans & Ancient Baobabs

Nxai Pan National Park

Nxai Pan covers around 2,500 km² of grassland and salt pans, with a distinctive terrain of fossilised salt flats, grassland and acacia forest, including the famous Baines' Baobabs.

Seasonal zebra and wildebeest migrations bring the predators in close: lions, jackals, hyenas. Other highlights include giraffe, springbok, flamingos and pelicans.

06 · Within Chobe

Savuti

An acclaimed, isolated section of Chobe National Park, Savuti is famous for striking scenery, the mysterious Savuti Channel that flows and dries unpredictably, and remarkable big-game sightings.

This is the place for large elephant herds, the legendary elephant-hunting lions of Savuti, wild dogs and hyenas, against a backdrop of arid plains, pans and marshes. A favourite of photographers seeking genuine, untamed Africa.

07 · World's Second-Largest Reserve

Central Kalahari Game Reserve

The CKGR is the world's second-largest reserve, approximately 52,800 km² of immense, remote wilderness: golden grasslands, fossil riverbeds like Deception Valley, salt pans and dunes.

Desert-adapted wildlife thrives here: cheetah, lion, springbok and gemsbok, with game drives shining after the rains when wildlife congregates. Look out for leopard, jackals, bat-eared fox and brown hyena. Vultures and ostriches are common.
